A few years back. I was walking Ben, listening to a podcast. It was mid-October.
"It's time to get ready for the new year."
"Are you freaking kidding me, the year's not over yet. There's still so much to do."
I felt robbed. (so much left undone). Panicked. Resentful.
A rush of thoughts...
Why are you talking about the new year already?
If only I had more time...if only this didn't happen to us.
What's the point. Another year...GONE. Ugh...maybe next year will be better.
Can you relate?
Since then I discovered,
those were just my thoughts. (sentences in my brain.)
I can choose better thoughts and a better life. (no matter the circumstances).
So can YOU.
a new week, new month, new year
is just an excuse to fail ahead of time.
This life is meant to show up to fully. NOW.
And through all that waiting, here I am. My life is passing, day by day, and I am waiting for it to start. I am waiting for that time, that person, that event when my life will finally begin. - Shauna Niequist

It could be a commitment to:
- write an overdue letter or send out holiday cards.
- write your children love letters for under the tree.
- 21 days of clutter clearing (15 minutes a day)
- 21 days of self-care (10 minutes even)
- walk every day for 21 days
- meditate every day for 21 days.
- forgive someone once and for all. This might even be you.
- send e-messages every day for 21 days to uplift and encourage.
As long as you are breathing, you are creating results in your life.

I asked registrants to send me their 21-day idea. Here's just a few.
I’m excited too! I’ve been thinking about what my “thing” will be. I’ve been learning how to capture film and create films so I’m considering making this my thing - to create more for my family but also build a portfolio for clients. I also like the idea of de-cluttering my house. So many things I could do! Looking forward to Monday and getting started.
I want to instill better daily habits of tending to my space. And shifting my thoughts through writing has become a big part of this. Writing thoughts down helps me move from derisive thoughts to grateful and productive thoughts. Thank you Kim! I can't wait to start Monday!
Meditation is what I’m going to commit to morning and evening for 21 days! I’ve been doing it for years but with very little consistency. Thanks to you and mentioning Joe Dispenza I have been reading how amazing it is to take this time to quiet down the mind while still awake. You are amazing and I love you!
I’m for now considering trying to write every single day something (about my projects, gratitude, thought downloads, even to dos) because right now I’m not doing it every day. I also want to meditate every day as it’s been a bit too sporadic lately! there are other things I put in place but it can’t be every day (like sports 3 times a week etc.) So excited to continue your courses.

Kim your course has guided me toward positive thinking, reacting, dreaming, planning, accepting, learning and expanding and accepting the new thoughts which are changing the tone and tough stuff in my life. Writing is amazing.
I have become the person who looks after me. I write and write and think and have changed in ways that make me love myself again and through that have deeper love and understanding for my family. I see the old monkey brain caution thoughts as weak and part of remembered pasts and I replace them with reality. I thank you for providing your Write Your Hearts Desire. Thank you again for what you have given out to the world in the WRITE challenge and the Heart's Desire class. I am soooooo excited that we will be continuing. I was truly trying to figure out what I needed to do to make myself as excited about writing as I have been these past few months. I cannot wait for the next segment!!
I am thoroughly loving this - I am beyond inspired by your attention, creativity and all the energy you're devoting to this. It's rare that I leave an experience like this feeling like I got WAY more than my money's worth!! You've taught and guided from an open place - a place of vulnerability and honesty. You've called us so much higher without even the slightest hint of "should" or "need to" or "only this one way" - very refreshing!
When I returned to work on Monday, I started putting something I wanted to change at the top of a page, and then working at least one—often multiple—processes from this class, and things began to happen. I did the writing, showed up for the work. Suddenly my job was manageable, I slept better, I loved my husband more and hated his dog less. It was like someone, maybe you, had waved a magic wand over my world and suddenly I saw sparkle instead of rubble, shine instead of shadow.
Relationships between children and I that had come to a dead stop, opened up. They were reaching out to me, even! And accepting invitations they had been ignoring for months. I started to have writing flow again, and good writing! And I am putting up a real Christmas tree (*nod to Tammy T*) for the first time in more than 5 years.
I feel lighter, and more hopeful.
