Such a fun call today...
You may have heard me say before. I love to talk about 'all the things'.
Today we talked nail and haircare during this time of isolation.
Sandra shared her tips for in home nail care. So good.
Then we jumped to the techy stuff.
Sandra's Tips for Nail Care
You will need:
- Nail file - paper file / moderate hardness - avoid metal files
- cotton wool balls or pads
- pure acetone
- aluminum foil (cut in small pieces)
- buffer (nail polishing buffer)
- cuticle stick (ideally wooden)
- Q-tip (optional)
- Olive oil & hand cream (optional)
- with the nail file remove the first topcoat of the varnish.
- make ten cotton wool balls, soak them in acetone and place them on your nails.
- cut ten small pieces of aluminum foil and wrap them over the soaked cotton wool. Secure these in place.
- leave your fingertips wrapped for approximately 10 minutes.
- Remove the foils one by one using a cuticle stick to bush the base of the nails outwards. If you find it difficult to remove, go back to soaking for another 5 mintues and try again.
- smooth the surface of the nail with a buffer.
After the semi-permanent nail polish removal your nails may be slightly dehydrated. To hydrate them, soak a Q-tip in olive oil and apply to your nails and skin around them. Repeat once a day, ideally before bedtime. If you want more hydration after the oils is absorbed, use a hand cream and apply it to the same points as mentioned above.
